'Sterling' is a slightly smaller silver linden, but with the same strongly pyramidal form, fragrant yellow summer flowers, and deep green leaves with the silvery undersides. It grows about 45 feet tall and 35 feet wide, making it well suited to the urban landscape. An ideal shade, patio, or screen tree.
Grow in average, dry to medium, well-drained soils in full sun to part shade. Prefers fertile, well-drained loams, but adapts to a wide range of soil conditions. Best drought resistance of any of the lindens. Good tolerance for urban conditions.
