Water Saving Tip:

Replace turf with groundcovers, trees, and shrubs. If you have areas where no one uses the grass, patches that do not grow well, or a turf area too small to water without runoff, consider replacing the turf with water-efficient landscaping.

Prague viburnum forms a dense, rounded shrub to about 10 feet tall and wide. Leaves are dark green. Pink buds open to creamy white, fragrant flowers in spring. Berries follow, maturing to red and then black, and frequently persisting into the winter. An attractive screen or hedge, or use for winter interest in the shrub or foundation border. In milder winters, it may retain its foliage as evergreen.
Grow in well-drained soil in full sun to part shade. Prefers loamy soils, but tolerates wide range of soils. Established plants prefer regular watering but have some drought tolerance. Prune as needed immediately after flowering, but avoid shearing as it makes the shrub sort of twiggy and woody (see Guides).
