Water Saving Tip:

Replace turf with groundcovers, trees, and shrubs. If you have areas where no one uses the grass, patches that do not grow well, or a turf area too small to water without runoff, consider replacing the turf with water-efficient landscaping.

  • Notes

Though not an oregano for culinary use, this cascading form has such unusual flowers, you'll want to grow it anyway! In mid-summer, wiry stems emerge above the dense mound of blue-green, finely textured foliage, and are covered with paper-lantern-like flowers that are tipped in pink. The flowers form a lovely cascade, and so plant it at the top of a wall or in a raised planter to take advantage of the full effect. It grows about 18 inches tall and wide.
Grow in well drained soils in full sun. Adaptive to poor soils and clay-loam. Cut back in late winter to near the crown.
