Water Saving Tip:

Fix leaking sprinklers, valves, and pipes.

Woolly yarrow is a wonderful groundcover for hot, dry, sunny spaces. It forms a tight mat of fuzzy olive-green leaves, topped by clusters of bright canary-yellow flowers in early summer. It is a fine performer in rock gardens and at the front of herbaceous perennial borders. Evergreen. Tolerates light foot traffic, so plant it between pavers or at the edges of paths and walks. Grows 6 to 8 inches tall and 8 to 12 inches wide.
Best in full sun and well-drained soil. Clumps are easily divided in early spring or fall. Trim off faded flower heads to tidy up the plants. Divide in the spring every few years as the centers can sometimes melt out. Tolerates clay soils. Attracts butterflies; is resistant to rabbits and deer. Drought tolerant.
