Mountain muhly is a semi-evergreen, medium-sized bunch grass with a somewhat floppy habit. It has an open and airy appearance. Its foliage is green, with the blades flat or rolled inward. The flowers emerge greenish to dark gray in the summer. Grows about 2-1/2 feet tall and wide.
Grow in full sun and well draining soil, coarse to loamy. It is slow to established but is long lived.
