Water Saving Tip:

Replace turf with groundcovers, trees, and shrubs. If you have areas where no one uses the grass, patches that do not grow well, or a turf area too small to water without runoff, consider replacing the turf with water-efficient landscaping.

This is a selection of variegated boxelder. The leaves have 3 to 5 lobes, and are variegated white and green with hints of pink. Foliage turns gold in fall. Blooms are inconspicuous. Because of the leaf coloration, Flamingo prefers regular watering during hot summer months and late day shade to protect the white in the foliage from burning. It can grow 25 to 35 feet tall and nearly as wide.
Prefers well drained soil. Due to the leaf coloration, it's best to provide some mid or late day shade to avoid scorching. Prune selectively to shape or control size, but avoid shearing (see Guides).
