Water Saving Tip:

Change spray sprinklers to low-flow bubbler or drip systems. Shrubs and trees are ideal candidates for this type of irrigation because the water is applied directly to the root zones.

This is a non-fruit bearing, ornamental strawberry, generally growing under 5 inches in height with a spread of about 1 foot. It has soft pink flowers that bloom intermittently from late spring into the fall. It is not fast growing, but is a nice ground cover for a smaller area.
Grow in full sun to part shade, in well-drained, rich soils. Best flowering occurs in full sun, but summer heat can scorch the leaves if plant doesn't receive adequate moisture, so I guess you have to choose which is more important. Spreads by runners (stolons), which lay on the soil surface and root.
