'Spartan' is a very narrow, upright juniper with deep green coloring that holds well in winter months, and grows about 15 feet tall and 3 to 5 feet wide. It is ideal for narrow areas, as a screen, to line drives, or back a formal border. It's branches hold up well to snow-loads.
Makes an attractive accent or screen. Does not require shearing to maintain its shape. Fast growing for a juniper. Prefers full sun and moderate to low moisture. Will grow in nearly any soil type, as long as it is well-drained, including sandy, gravelly, and clay soils. Tolerates heat, including reflective heat. Drought tolerant once established; requires only periodic watering.
